My Story
In June of 2007, I suffered a minor heart attack. I was taken to South Hampton Memorial Hospital to the emergency ward. I was transported from there to Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Va, the following day where they then placed a stent. I was then sent to Louise Obici Hospital after the placing of the stent for 6 weeks of Physical therapy.
Three of my grandchildren at the time were all under the age of 10 the youngest was only 3. My middle grandson, was devastated, they all were but he wouldnt rest until I made him a promise, I was gonna always be his grandma! So, above all I had this promise ontop of the wanting to and needing to of getting healthy so I was determined that I was going to do something, I had quit smoking and then there was the excercise part I didn't want to go to a co-ed gym and what perfect timing when a lady at my church mentioned Curves to me. I went ahead, thinking what could it hurt, and how perfect women only! I started going 3 days a week, at first it was hard, very hard. Now I can go 4-5 times a week and it doesnt bother me at all. I always look forward now to coming to curves. I went back to the cardiac doctor and he was so happy with me he told me I was doing wonderful, so he took me off some of my pills and told me not to come back for a year. Oh and in closing I am still GRANDMA!!! A healthier, slimer, tobacco free, curves junkie, grandma.
