My Story
I almost missed the trip of my life......

We were scheduled to fly to Nova Scotia, Canada, I was so nervous about having a heart attack , I had to go to emergency to get something to settle my nerves.
Well I went on the trip , but I had to endure a few very embarrassing moments due to my excess weight and poor health.
When we were on the plane I could not do up the seatbelt so I had to get an extension..wow...how embarrassing.
While we travelled we attended a concert in Newbrunswick. It was a fare distance we had to walk from our vehilcle to the grand stand. I was unable to complete the walk and had to be excorted into the gates by the RCMP.
We left out a lot of sight seeing because I knew it would be to difficult for me.
My health issues were really affecting my life.....
I had very high blood pressure and needed three types of pills to keep it managable. My asthma was at the worst it had ever been. I was using my puffer 3 to 5 times a day. My arthrisits was also making it difficult to get around. My life was heading for disaster.

Thanks to curves, and the weight managment program I have been able to lose 78 pounds and 67 inches. I am no longer on blood presure medication and only require my puffer when around smoke. My arthritis has lessened and I am able to do stairs and long walks no problem.

In the last two years I have felt like a new person. I have began to enjoy life to the fullest,
I was able to go on a 3 day canoeing expedtion which invloved hours of paddeling and portaging. WOW ! I felt like I had conquered the world.
I have also joined my husband on his skidooing adventures. Since I have joined him we have put on 4200 kilometers. We have skidooed to different communities and attended skidoo rallies. Wow! I never dreamed in a million years I could accomplish these things.

I also am able to enjoy my grandchildren...taking them skating, swimming, and to the park. Spending time with them means the world to me and I want to be around for my great grandchildren.....I am looking forward to all the new adventures life has in store .....


ps.....My son is getting married in Sept and I was able to buy my dress in a regular womens store.....
