My Story
"You're going to love it here!" That's the comment I make whenever I see another new member signing up at my Curves. I remember how anxious I felt when "signing my life away" about 4 years ago. I've just celebrated my 1000th workout at Curves receiving my "1,000" Workout T-shirt from my club owners! I feel so much better for the time spent and in the process I "misplaced" about 50 pounds.
You see, I have Parkinson's disease so it is a major effort on my part to participate. On my first workout I was using a cane to get to each machine, but half way around the Circuit I left the walking stick behind and whirled away. I have never looked back.
This club has become a rather social outlet, too. I meet people from all walks of life every day. Yes, that's right, everyday! I strive for that. Although it is not the recommended practice to workout more than 3 times a week, I know it makes me feel so good. I keep up the practice of 7 workouts per week, so when Curves is closed on Sunday, I visit the workout center in the clubhouse of my housing development.
The Circuit coaches at Curves are so understanding and patient. I'm not sure whether it is the dearth of men, but I do enjoy doing the workout with women only.
I am hoping that this continual routine at Curves will keep the Parkinson's disease at bay. I feel much better and look forward to another 1,000 workouts at Curves.
Thank you Curves!!!
