My Story
At the age of 69, I found myself alone in an apartment with only my cats to keep me company. My husband was gone, the kids grown. I knew I had to do something to find a life for myself.
One of the things I decided to do was join Curves. And it turned out to be a decision that has changed my life.
Just under a year ago, I walked into Curves using my cane, wondering if my declining health would stop me from even getting on and off the workout machines.
Last fall, I celebrated my 70th birthday and celebrate is the right word.
Now when I walk into Curves four mornings a week, I leave my cane at home. With less joint pain and more strength, I rarely use the cane. More than that, my high blood pressure has come down significantly.
My friends and family say I'm a new woman...and they're right. I'm a new woman with a new attitude and Curves gets part of the credit for that.
I look forward to every morning workout with my friends at Curves. I never thought I'd say I love to exercise, but the truth is that I do. And much of that joy comes from contact with other members and the staff. They make my workout a fun part of the day.
I think of Curves as medication. I wouldn't miss one of my days at Curves any more than I would miss taking my pills.
