My Story
In Nov 2005, my mom passed away. That was my wake up call to do something about my weight and therefore my health. Looking at a picture of my brother and me at the cemetary, was a big motivator. I decided to not only join the Curves that was located right across the street from my office, but also to diet. I figured if I couldn't walk across the street and invest 30 minutes in better health, I deserved to be fat. I did not exercise and was sure I would not stick with it if I had to get in my car and drive somewhere to exercise! Now I'm addicted! In 6 months, with a minimum of three curves workouts a week, I lost 50 lbs and 54". After a year, I was so motivated to maintain my weight, that I was able to change to a club closer to my house that I had to drive to--no problem! I've kept my weight off and now have lost a total of 61". After my annual bone density test, my Gyno said, keep doing whatever it is (exercising) you are doing, your bones are perfect. I'm 52!
