My Story
I started coming to Curves on March 22,2008. I tried Curves for a couple of days before I joining on March 27,2008. I'm 24 yrs. old. I work at a daycare in Easley,SC. During my junior year of high school,I tried to get in the Air Force. I kept trying every year after that, but i couldn't get in. I was taking antidepressants and antianxiety medicine at the time and the military couldn't have me on the field needing those medications. Then i gave up trying to get in. I don't think that it was the Lord's will for me to go into the military. After that i think i got lazy. I ended up gaining weight. I came off the antidepressants and antianxiety medications three years ago after being in a car accident. I weighed 155 pounds, 242 inches and 26.20% body fat when i came to Curves. I'm 5'5" tall.I weigh 135 pounds now after working out for just over a year. That's what i weighed in high school. I was wearing a size 14 when i started at Curves and now i wear a size 6 or 8, or 9/10. It depends on how the clothes are made. Some of my pants are a size 11. I lost most of my weight before i started using Curves Smart.I started using Curves Smart on August 22, 2008. I have lost a total of 21 pounds, 26 inches and 13 pounds of body fat. I am burning over 500 calories most days.Other days i burn between 300 and 500 calories. There have been some days i have burned around 600 calories. I definitely feel more confident. My eating has changed. I don't eat a lot of junk food like i used too. I don't drink a lot of dark sodas anymore. I am mostly drinking Sprite and water. I used to eat two lunches at work-one at lunch when the kids eat and another when i take my lunch break. Now i am only eating once. I am also drinking Fat Free Skim Milk. My family and friends have noticed a big change. Even at work they have noticed. That makes me feel good about myself. I try to come everyday when i can to workout. I've had fun buying new clothes. It never crosses my mind to give up on Curves or skip working out. It really is a lifestyle change for me. The women at the Curves which i attend have noticed how much more outgoing and confident I am.
