My Story
Me and My Lily

As I continue to work out during my Cuvres session, I always look around to see the styles and the facial determination of others. One day, I notice this person coming through the door with a big smile, and everyone turning around and looking at her, and giving her the welcome wave. The staff are all calling out to her, as they always do to make all of us welcome, but an extra admiring response cheering out, "it's Lily"!!!.

Lily has been coming to Curves for a couple of years now, but I guess we kept missing each other. I, myself, have been going to Curves for a couple of years and just this year, I found that going to Curves around noon was a good time, especially with my work schedule. I also noticed that Lily came in around the same time.

One day, as I was minding my own business and trying to get through with my Curves stretches, I heard this low and loud voice just echoed in the building. "Hey, you are cheating on your stretching"! Hoping no one was listening, I looked up and this Lily was staring at me, and so was everyone else. Talk about being embarrassed! She was still smiling at me with a hint of a naughty look. From then on, we became best exercise buddies and friends, and I never cheated on stretching from then on.

Lily just turned 82 years old, and I'm 60 years old. She uses every machine at Curves, and sometimes goes around 3 times with me if I come late. Lily is the best dresser there and matches all her workout clothes. Everyone is always complimenting her on her outfits and matching shoes. I, on the other hand, just wear what is not dirty, but she always tells me how great I look. I need to go to Curves because of a heart condition, and Lily goes to Curvbes because she loves to exercise and loves to be around people.

Lily and my 86 years old mother are also friends now. We all go to lunch and dinner at least once a week or so. Lily has so much history. Being born in Romania, her late husband and children worked hard to now owning a very successful business. Lily is a wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother, and has more energy than life itself. Lily has so much to share, and always has nice things to say about everyone. She is also a comedian and tells these jokes where all of us are laughing until our stomach hurts. Lily has also had some tragedies in her life, and once told me she gets up from bed just to go to Curves.

Lily is my exercise partner. I always tell people that I have a 82 years old exercise partner who has more endurance then me!! I get a lot of laughs out of that one, but Lily gives me that naughty look over and over again, but she always gets me back somehow. Lily is also the best cook and salad maker. She makes sure I eat right, and makes me a salad at least once a week. I look forward to coming to Curves and working out with my exercise partner, Lily.
