My Story
About eight years ago, having reached a weight of 300lbs., I decided it was time to take charge of my life. I had joined Weight Watchers several times, but two years ago, finally had success with a 60lb weight loss. I hit a plateau and a friend of mine suggested I join Curves in order to add exercies to my lifestyle, so I joined with the Avon Study and loved it. Unfortunately, around that time I ws diagnosed with tongue caner and had to have 65% of my tongue removed and then reconstructive surgery and radiation from December through February 2009. Again, my friend suggested that exercise may help me feel a little more energized, and it worked. I weighed in at 172 lbs and am now down to 154 lbs.,just 4 lbs short of my goal.
I have two beautiful grandchildren and two more on the way and at this time of my life I have so much to live for. I used to think I had to lose weight for my kids, but I was wrong. I am losing weight and getting healthy for ME. If I'm not number one on my list, I can't be there for my family.
I thank God and Curves for helping me accomplish my dream. Having just reached my 60th birthday, I am now the richest woman in the world. I have my health, a loving and supportive family and friends that I have yet to meet at Curves.
To show their support, my kids got me a WiFit for my birthday, so if I had to miss a workout at Curves I could do a workout at home.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
