My Story
Clara looks back on her life of 81 years and says "joining Curves has been one of the most wonderful things I have done in my life". She can tell you about the strength and power of her Ephrata Curves Club. The recent death of her husband one week into the contest has created an outpouring of love and support from her family & the girls at Curves. She feels the love & support is helping her cope and keeping her going.
Clara has completed 1,345 workouts since October of 2004!
The employees and members of Ephrata, alike can all find inspiration from Clara. You can almost set the clock by Clara and her 8 a.m. arrival at the club six days a week. Not only does she attend Curves those six mornings, but she chooses to do another lap. When asked by another member why she was going the extra lap, she responded by simply saying, I just like it!
Clara also walks about four miles; two in the morning and two in the afternoon in addition to her workout every day. On one occasion she walked across town to pay her utility bill and then back to her home just a little short of four miles!
In April of 2007, Clara returned from having her knee replaced. A speedy recovery that her doctor said would not have been as quick if it had not been for all of her physical activity that she was doing at Curves and on her own. Clara was back to her usual workout after a 6 week minimum recovery. Blue Ridge Cable 11 was here to help celebrate her 1000th workout shortly after her return.
Clara has that motivation and drive that we all strive for in our lives. Her compassion and concern for others has touched many members. She is not only known for her dedication, but also for her winning smile and loving hugs. Members and employees would all agree, It is truly a blessing to have her as a part of our Curves family!
