My Story
I am a Curves trainer, and I nominate Melinda Thom in the Amazing Woman Contest.
Her passion and commitment to her weight loss goal has amazed members at Curves Ajax South, Canada.
Melinda Thom knew it was time to take action. Yo-yo dieting at around 201 pounds, she finally plateau with only a 6 pounds lost. She knew that her self-esteem had taken a beaten.
At Age 34, weight of 195 pounds, BMI 32 and a body fat of 38.5%, her knees hurt, her back hurt, she was always out of breath and had very little energy. Her inability to lose weight affected her emotionally, and exercising at a gym was not a thought she entertained.
Until Curves!
Melinda knew it was time to do something about her weight, she joined Curves in Jan 2008 and with the help of the staff at Curves Ajax South , she was able to set goals to lose the weight for her sisters wedding in October 2009.
"I am so committed to my goals that I work out 3-4 days a week at Curves, and get on my treadmill on alternating days for 30 to 60 minutes."
"I have learned to eat right and manage my weight without permanent dieting. Not only have I learned to eat well, but I also get the support and encouragement of others to reach my goal. I enjoy spending time with my niece and two nephews whom are extremely active."

Today Melinda is a Curves success at 138 Pounds, with a Body Fat of 23.7% and BMI of 22
