My Story
> For almost everyone there are 2 choices in
> life, to wallow in self pity while getting older or make a
> reverse turn and get your life in order. I decided
> that I had to make my life better and the first step I
> needed to take was to lose weight for my health and
> well-being. It all started in April of 2008 when I went to
> Curves 3 times a week and began losing weight and inches.
> I was beginning to feel good about myself and
> I realized now that I was approaching 66 there was no time
> like the present to fulfill my dream. I went to a ballroom
> dancing competition in Boston to watch a friend compete; I
> realized that if she could do it so could I. This was a big
> turning point for me. I had more confidence since I lost 40
> pounds and a lot more energy, so I started taking lessons in
> February and was asked if I wanted to go into the next dance
> competition. I said yes. I knew I could depend on Curves to
> keep my bones strong and with the Curves Smart System I am
> motivated to keep challenging myself to get better. This
> gave me the stamina to compete and perform 16 routines in
> one day without getting out of breathe and I placed in all
> 16 entries.
> It was amazing knowing how much of a
> difference a new size in clothes can feel and how it can
> make you feel more confident in yourself. I went from a 22
> to a 14 and hope to buy another new wardrobe when I hit
> goal. As you can see I am not going to stop now that I know
> if I keep going to Curves I can lose another 40 pounds and
> be at my ideal weight, it gets harder the older I get, but
> not impossible.
> Many people have said that I am an
> inspiration to them so I just tell them about Curves and
> that they can do it too. I tell them to never give up on
> their dream especially when they have a great tool like
> Curves to help them along the way since all the instructors
> are very supportive and encourage you when you feel you are
> not up to it. When you have finished you feel great and are
> glad you went, no matter how you felt before you started.
