My Story
I have been slowly but steadily putting on weight since diagnosed with thyroid issues in 1997. The first year I gained 30 pounds and was told it was because of my age...what the heck? I have a fairly large frame and have always carried my weight well and have won alot of bets about how much I weigh. 95% of people were always at least 20 ibs under my actual weight with their guess. As a result I denied that I had gained that much till I hit the dreaded 200 mark. Then my daughter got married and I felt like a beautiful proud mother of the bride....until I saw the pictures. Oh my goodness, who was that FAT person in all my pictures. That was the start of the mental desire to loose weight. Then when my son announced he was engaged, that was the final motivation. There is no way I am going to look FAT in his wedding pictures. So with a mental adjustment and now going to Curves and the positive reinforcement I get there I know I am going to be the slimmer healthier Mother of the Groom on Sept 5, 2009. I can't wait to see myself in the pictures.
