My Story
I have lost over 100 pounds with CURVES! I began this journey early in 2007. I had been overweight for many years, but had not been very concerned about it until my doctor determined that I needed medication for high blood pressure. With a family history of both heart disease and diabetes, I knew that I was then on a path that I did not want to travel. I joined Weight Watchers to learn how to eat properly, and I began using my CURVES membership every week like it was intended. I try to workout at least 3 times every week, and I walk every day to insure a good cardiac workout. I have to date lost 103 pounds, 91 inches, and 72 pounds of body fat. My BMI has gone from 43.4 to now just 24.6 and I am no longer overweight!! I feel great, have lots of energy, and a better outlook on life itself. I have more self confidence now that I ever have, and a sense of accomplishment for reaching a goal that 2 years ago I thought was impossible. I enjoy going to CURVES, because it's like "girls day out" every single day! The members and staff are always encouraging, and the workout is FUN.
As a mother of 3, and grandmother of 2, I am happy to know that my health risks are now within normal limits and I expect to enjoy being with my family for many years to come. I try to encourage others to find their goals, and to focus on themselves enough to make those goals a reality. It's hard sometimes to make time for yourself with all else that is going on, but I found that by making my workouts a part of my daily routine I now fit them in without feeling guilty for that use of time. CURVES has made a tremendous difference in my life.
