My Story
WOW!!! Has it already been ten years? I am afraid that it has almost been ten years since I joined Curves. My anniversary date is July 28th.
I like many women started putting on weight after some very trying times. My husband of 18 years just walked out on me one Tuesday night in l997 when I had returned from being with my very ill mother at Duke Hospital. It was around 9:00 at night and he said that he was leaving . Very puzzled I replied "where are you going so late at night?" His very short reply was I am leaving you!!!!! Needless to say he was leaving his two beautiful daughters also. I could not tell my very close friend, my mother, because she had lots of tests the next day. It was a very stressful time. Later the next year she died of stomach cancer. I felt completely alone having lost both of them. I guess that I was substituting food for love. So I finally joined Curves to stop the weight gain and save my life. There is so much heart disease in my family. I go to Curves because everyone is so nice and I have found a new family there. Also I do it for my health!
