My Story
Hello, my name is Marie Miceli.
I joined curves approximately two years ago. I am a member at the Curves in Naples, Fl. known as Golden Gate Estates. I weighed 266lbs at 60 years old. At that time, I could not even walk to my mailbox, 150 feet. How discouraging. After I lost my husband, I realized I needed to do something about my eating habits. I also needed to get moving! So, I started dieting and walking a little each day. After losing 60lbs, my daughter suggested that I join Curves. At that time, I felt I wasn't ready to meet new friends or spend any time working on myself. I had no confidence, and was embarrassed by my appearance. I finally got the courage to walk through those inviting Curves doors. After meeting the great staff, I made a lot of new friends. Together we share the same goals and a sisterhood that we celebrate everyday. I soon started talking and now (ha- ha -ha), I never stop.
Today my scale reads 125lbs. My whole life has changed for the better. I love to go dancing, walk the beach and can hardly contain my excessive energy.
With the help of the Curves staff, who always encourage me to do my best, I have friendships and an exercise program for life. Could anything be sweeter?
