My Story
When I retired from teaching in 2004, I became a Curves member, and it was the BEST thing I ever did for myself. I faithfully went at least 12X a month and was weighed and measured every month. My workouts paid off too, as in Feb. 2009, I had a seizure, was airlifted to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St.Louis, and had brain surgery the next day to remove a benign tumor the size of your fist. I had surgery on a Monday and was released from the hospital that very Thurs. NO ONE could believe how fast I popped back. I had the answer to that: CURVES ! Two nurses were passing my room when I was in ICU. One said to the other, "This one's a CHAMP. She works out at Curves 3 X a week." Believe me, I told anyone who would listen. I even included that fact into the testimony I gave at my church the last Sunday in March. If we are a good steward of the body God gave us, it will know what to do to heal itself. I obeyed my surgeon, used common sense, and got back to Curves as soon as I had permission. I believe that my workouts helped to save my life. Thank you, Curves. Thank you, Diane & Gary Heavin, for your commitment to women's health.
